Winola Lake Revives the Clara Maass Medical Center Computer Cart Fleet
Company’s Mobility Medic Cart Services Provide Cost-Effective Way for Community Hospital to Get More from Existing Investments
DOYLESTOWN, PA – March 9, 2011 – Facing a combination of tightening budgets and the need to continue providing the same high levels of patient care, Clara Maass Medical Center was at a crossroads with their mobile computer carts. They couldn’t afford replacements, but they also couldn’t afford to have their cart fleet off the floor, disrupting existing clinician workflows.
They chose Winola Lake, a provider of IT and point of care technology solutions to hospitals and healthcare organizations, and its Mobility Medic Cart Services to rehabilitate their carts at a fraction of the cost to replacement them.
"As someone who’s been involved in healthcare technology for many years, I’ve witnessed the positive impact mobile carts make –and the negative impact they have when they break down," said Rick Hodge, president and CEO of Winola Lake. "That’s why our Mobility Medic services are a big part of what we do. They enable hospitals like Clara Maass to get their carts back to the point of care so they can help improve the patient experience."
Winola Lake engineers went to Clara Maass, located in Belleville, New Jersey, to perform the services. They replaced all the power systems and cords, cleaned up the carts and made the necessary mechanical adjustments in order to have the carts performing like new.
Winola Lake Mobility Medic supports all manufacturers’ point of care products and can drive 99% uptime for devices through an onsite or Winola-hosted spares pool. Winola Lake also provides proactive cart care through scheduled weekly, monthly or bi-monthly service visits, along with asset management, service history reports and warranty tracking to prevent cart fleets from reaching their breaking point.
