Rick Hodge founded Winola Lake Health IT in 2010, after building almost 25 years of technology experience and knowledge. A passionate entrepreneur, Rick’s vision was sparked by a personal passion for bringing technology solutions to healthcare.
“I believed then as I do now that healthcare faces difficult and unique challenges, blending the demands of maintaining a profitable business with the concerns that come with delivering personal care and human services,” Rick explained.
Before launching Winola Lake Health IT, Rick was the Executive Vice President, InfoLogix, Inc., a company he also co-founded. InfoLogix became the world’s leading integrator for wireless mobile computing. Rick launched the company’s healthcare business, providing wireless mobile computing technology to help drive the rapid evolution of the healthcare market for EMR, CPOE, RFID, and all wireless mobile computing needs.
In 1996, Rick co-founded Prologix, a pioneer in technical solutions for mobile computing. The company created the industry standard for mobile computing. Rick navigated Prologix’s success by contracting with major hospital systems, such as Provena Health, Tennat Health, and Catholic Health Initiatives. Two years after the start-up, Prologix earned the #5 spot on Entrepreneurs Magazine’s list of the top 100 fastest growing businesses in the United States. In 2000, Rick merged Prologix with Datavision, a $30 million systems integrator based in Warminster, PA. Datavision-Prologix grew to become the industry leader with revenues exceeding $80M. In 2001, Rick helped to complete a successful sale of the company and then moved on to launch InfoLogix.
Winola was named 2 fastest growing company in the Philadelphia 100 in 2013.
He says the principle behind a successful business is, “Take care of customers and employees, and they will take care of the company.”
